DECEMBER 2025

December 17th

In Trump’s presidential address, he made sweeping claims regarding the cost of living, saying “I am bringing those high prices down and bringing them down very fast” referring to things like gasoline, groceries, and airfare. He compares prices under his administration with that of former President Joe Biden’s administration, but according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Trumps claims are exaggerated, or completely false.

Trump is blowing up National Park land for a new border wall  National Park property and critical jaguar habitat in Arizona's San Rafael Valley to construct 27 miles of border wall. This land intersects with Native American Tribal Land, and imposes on their soverignty.

About 50 out of 600 Planned Parenthoods have shut down in 2025, a result of Trump and Republicans targeting the organization. As these close, a new “Christ-centered” and “life-affirming” clinic is ready to step in. These clinics are anti-abortion, and focus on persuading women to carry their pregnancies to term.

Late December

The Impact ..

COST OF LIVING

Claim: "Slash prices on drugs and pharmaceuticals by as much as 400,500 and even 600%"

Truth: Price cuts thus large are not mathmatically possible. Ex. a 200% reduction would mean the pharmacutical company would be paying the consumer the full price of the medicine

Claim: "Many of the groceries have come way down"

Truth: Overall grocery prices are up about 1.9%, with prices 2.4% higher in December than in the year prior

Meat has gone up 8.5% in the past year, with beef at a record high, up 14.7% in the past year.

Coffee is also up 18.9%.

Claim: Egg prices are down 82%

Truth: Data shows a decrease of about 43%

NOTE: egg prices were heavily affected by the avian flu, opposed to a decrease solely due to Trumps policy

Claim: Gas prices are $1.99 per gallon

Truth: The average price for a gallon of gas is $2.82, with the cheapest gas prices (Oklahoma) at $2.31

(as of December 2025)

Claim: Airfare rates have gone down

Truth: Airfare rates were up 3.2% in Sept. 2025 compared to Sept. 2024

"Black Job Deficit"

Since the beginning of 2025, the Black unemployement rate has risen to 7.5%, the highest it has been since 2021. Why?

* Historically, when businesses have to downsize due to economic influences, Black workers are the first to be terminated

* Two out of five Black men work in production and logistics, and with tglobal trade wars seen at the start of the current administration, these industries have cut back almost 100,000 jobs

* Black youth unemployment hit 21% in August, the highest rate of any race and age group

* Click HERE to refer to August 2025, where we discuss the employment crisis, and disinvestment in Black women in the workforce

With the cost of living increasing, and job opportunites / wages decreasing, Black communities are disproportionately impacted and left to figure out how to survive with limited to no assistance.

This information serves as an instance of data being eliminated by the Trump administration. It encompasses datasets that were deleted or restricted between mid to late 2025, as part of efforts to obscure the truth and reinforce the administration's misleading claims

PLANNED PARENTHOOD

U.S. Constitution establishes the principle of separation of church and state, which means that government entities should not favor one religion over another or impose religious beliefs on citizens. Replacing a secular healthcare provider like Planned Parenthood with religiously affiliated clinics could undermine this principle by promoting Christian values and beliefs in a public health setting, potentially limiting access to services for those who do not share those beliefs.

Replacing Planned Parenthood with religiously affiliated clinics would

- Limit access to comprehensive healthcare

- Take away individual autonomy and choice

- Ignore diverse population needs

Major Impacts to Black Americans

Increased Health Risks

The closure of abortion clinics can lead to higher rates of unsafe abortions as Black women, who already face significant systemic barriers in accessing quality healthcare, may resort to dangerous methods. Read more on the need for adaquent reproductive healthcare for Black women HERE

Economic Strain

Many Black women experience economic challenges that may make raising a child difficult. The lack of access to abortion services forces them into parenting roles, potentially exacerbating poverty cycles and limiting their educational and professional opportunities.

Limited Reproductive Autonomy

The removal of abortion clinics reduces the ability of Black women to make decisions about their bodies and futures. This loss of reproductive autonomy can lead to increased psychological distress and a feeling of disenfranchisement in managing their familial and economic circumstances.

Major Impacts to American Indians

Geographic Barriers

Native American communities often reside in rural areas with limited access to healthcare facilities. The closure of abortion clinics in or near reservations further isolates Native women from essential reproductive health services, forcing them to travel long distances, which can be both costly and logistically challenging.

Historical Trauma & Mistrust

Indigenous populations have a history of exploitation and coercion in medical settings. The removal of accessible abortion services can exacerbate feelings of mistrust towards medical institutions, leading to further reluctance to seek help and contributing to poorer health outcomes.

Cultural Impact

Many Native communities place high importance on family and childbearing. Gutting abortion services may pressure women into unwanted pregnancies, impacting their personal and cultural identities and potentially leading to intergenerational trauma linked to forced parenting under unfavorable conditions.

BORDER WALL + NATIVE COMMUNITIES

The construction of a new border wall in Arizona, as announced by the Trump administration, has significant implications for Native American communities, particularly those living in close proximity to the U.S.-Mexico border (including Tohono O'odham Nation, Cocopah Tribe, Pascua Yaqui Tribe, Kumeyaay Nation and Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas/Mexico). Here are some potential impacts:

Disruption of Land and Resources: Many Native American tribes have ancestral lands that overlap with the border region. The construction of a border wall can disrupt access to these lands, impacting their cultural, spiritual, and economic practices, including hunting, fishing, and gathering of traditional plants.

Erosion of Sovereignty: The border wall and associated enforcement measures may further encroach on the sovereignty of Native American tribes. The U.S. government has a trust responsibility to Native nations, and actions like border wall construction can undermine their autonomy and rights over their lands.

Environmental Impact: Border wall construction has significant environmental consequences, including habitat destruction, fragmentation of ecosystems, and threats to endangered species.

Increased Surveillance: The presence of a border wall often leads to increased surveillance and militarization of the border region, creating a more oppressive environment for Native communities.
